1. Admission Requirements For International Students

i. Senior Secondary School / High School Students

Applicants who have recently completed Senior Secondary School / High School education (e.g. Grade 12) can apply for admission using their certificate. To apply, prospective international students must submit the following documents;

a) Completed Online Application Form

b) Certified Copy of Valid Passport

c) Certified Copy of Senior Secondary School / High School Certificate

d) Proof of Sponsorship (e.g Letter from Sponsor)

ii. Students With Prior Tertiary / Higher Education

To be admitted into a programme at ABM, applicants must submit the following documents;

a) Completed Online Application Form

b) Certified Copy of Valid Passport

c) Certified Copy of Senior Secondary School / High School Certificate

d) Certified Copy of Tertiary / Higher Education Certificate (e.g. Certificate, Diploma) (if completed / graduated)

e) Certified Copy of Transcript (e.g. Certificate, Diploma)

f) Proof of Sponsorship (e.g Letter from Sponsor)

iii. Admissions To Short Courses

The minimum requirement for admission to short courses is Junior Secondary (e.g Form 3, Grade 10) and a good understanding of the English Language. Applicants must submit the following documents;

3. Visa Requirements To Study In Botswana

i. Undergraduate Programmes

To pursue studies for a period longer than thirty (30) days in Botswana, all admitted students are required to have a valid Study Visa issued by an authorised Embassy, Consulate or High Commission of the Republic of Botswana for the entire duration of the study period.


Requirements for Study Visa


a) Study permit/study permit approval letter

b) Admission letter from the school

c) Source of funds/means of support

d) No payment (Free)

e) Valid Passport. The passport must have left validity of at least six months and more with at least three or more unused pages.

f) Recently taken photo in JPG format not bigger than 30Kb in size

g) All supporting documents must be in English and uploaded as ONE Pdf file not bigger than 5Mb in size

h) Copies of required documents must be certified.

i) Applicants without name/surname should add '(apostrophe) on the field to represent no name/surname

ii. Short Courses

For short courses that run for one (1) to thirty (30) days, international students who hold passports of countries requiring a visa to enter Botswana, may use a Tourist Visa*. The requirements to apply for a Tourist Visa are as follows;

a) Tour plan or copy of travel schedule

b) Flight bookings

c) Confirmation of bookings at hotel/lodges

d) RETURN TICKET

e) 300 Botswana Pula for single entry for a period up to 1 months

International students who hold a passport of any of the following countries requires a visa to enter Botswana

*Visa Requirements for Short Course studies may change from time to time. Applicants are encouraged verify the requirements at the nearest Embassy, Consulate or High Commission of the Republic of Botswana, or visit the Botswana e-Visa website for more information.

Visa applications are done through the nearest Embassy, Consulate or High Commission of the Republic of Botswana. Applicants are required to submit applications at their country of residence (where an Embassy/Consulate/High Commission of the Republic of Botswana exists) or the nearest country where such representation exists.


Applicants may also submit their visa application through the online e-Visa Portal .

ABM University College’s main campus is located in Gaborone, the capital city of Botswana. International flights land in Gaborone at the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport (SSKIA), which is a 15-minute drive from the ABM Campus.

International Students within the SADC region may enter Botswana by road through the various boarders around the country; Tlokweng and Ramatlabama Boarder Posts (Botswana-South Africa), Mamuno (Botswana-Namibia), Kazungula (Botswana-Zambia), Ramokgwebana (Botswana-Zimbabwe).
